In this area of the Earth the temperatures do not rise due to climate change, but are increasingly colder

  • Although the greenhouse effect is increasing the temperatures of the Earth with the passing of the decades, there is a point within the Atlantic Ocean that seems to escape understanding, and that points to be related to the change in ocean currents.

While climate change is causing the poles to melt and the sea level to rise due to rising temperatures around the world, there is an entirely opposite point on our planet: its temperatures are getting lower.

The emission of greenhouse gases is making our temperatures higher decade by decade, breaking records in different summers with alarming situations in certain parts of our planet. However, as researchers point out, there is a place in the middle of the Atlantic ocean that is getting colder year after year.

As reflected in a new article in the journal Nature Climate Change, they affirm that this strange behavior is due to a series of complex factors mainly due to the change in ocean currents and the thick clouds that congregate right there.

Researchers say that in this place called the “bubble” the same greenhouse effect that is heating most of the Earth is also probably causing the complex phenomena that are happening to make this bubble cool.

The University of Colorado oceanographer, Kristopher Karnauskas, has indicated that “Anthropogenic climate change changes the circuitry of the climate system. This cold bubble is an interesting manifestation of the danger we are causing

The fact that the Earth’s oceans are warming trapped by the increasing amounts of greenhouse gases has called attention to the fact that this small bubble exists in the North Atlantic that seems to go against the current of the rest with this curious change in temperature.

Climate change is going to severely affect the Mediterranean. According to a study, in 100 years the sea level will rise one meter and the temperature will be 5 degrees higher.

In any case, the fact that it is a difficult place to access, and with all the complexities of ocean circulation, means that researchers have not made much progress in this regard since its discovery a few years ago.
